So, a completely innocent man is found guilty of assault alleged by council employees who were later found to have perjured themselves over this matter at the 3 day Crown Court appeal hearing at which Mr Parnell was acquitted. Why was the then Leader of the Council, Dave Goddard, threatening to inform the press of Mr Parnell’s plight? What had it got to do with him? He was jubilant that he had got the result he wanted.
