I know the people in Democratic Services are wonderful, and you were all very kind to Mr Parnell.
What does Cllr Roberts mean by vile and unfounded accusations that are driven from a twisted logic? Could he elucidate please, and state clearly which accusations he means?
I couldn’t get any response from Smart/Clark/Bresnahan/Roberts for over 220 days, and when it came it was a lie – that the protected land has been tidied up and improved.

I refer to your public question that you submitted to the 24 June 2025 meeting of the Cabinet which was as follows:-
“Local council taxpayers are having terrible trouble getting responses from the LibDems at Romiley. I myself have never had any response from Cllrs Clark, Roberts or Bresnehan, and I try very hard. Could I ask the Leader if he thinks this is acceptable and, if not, what action does he intend to take to rectify this abuse by councillors who receive a lot of public money to represent us?
As you were not in attendance, it was agreed that a written response would be provided.
I have now been passed the following response which I have been asked to circulate to you:-
Dear Mrs Oliver
Thank you for your question, Ms Oliver. Your Liberal Democrat ward councillors respond to all reasonable enquiries and questions put to them, serving many hundreds of local residents each month. I can attest to this as one of them. We do not respond to questions which come alongside vile and unfounded accusations and that are driven from a twisted logic, or which are independently deemed to be vexatious. I have full faith the councillors in Bredbury Green and Romiley are serving residents well, working closely with the hardworking local MP Lisa Smart in very challenging and demanding times.
