After the LibDem Council wasted thousands of hours of police time persecuting innocent Mr Parnell, there was a 3 day, £10,000 per day Crown Court appeal at which Mr Parnell was acquitted of the alleged assault with a sneeze, and council employees were found to have perjured themselves by the judge.

The court heard that the police had tried to contact Ged Lucas, then Assistant Chief Executive of Stockport Council, nine times to try to get him to attend court. They left messages and sent emails but got no response whatsoever.

Judge Bernard Lever said when Ged Lucas was asked to attend this court, he ran for the hills.

Some might say £375,000 would be a price worth paying to be rid of such a man; I couldn’t possibly comment.
