Further information is (surprisingly) coming to light about the playing fields at North Reddish.
I have today received the following:-

“Dear Mrs Oliver,

I am writing in response to your request for information (ref FOI 7565).

The relevant Council Service(s) has searched for the requested information and our response is as follows.

3.2.18 The Council, in conjunction with Reddish North End Football Club,
has been awarded a grant of £0.418m from Football Foundation towards a new
Multi-use Games Area at Reddish. The Council will provide £0.06m Formal Sports Commuted Sum and NHS will provide a further £0.003m.

The answer is: at the former Fir Street Nursery Site.”

So, mystery remains regarding the work currently going on at the Harcourt Street
on what would be the replacement playing fields were there any white lines or goalposts in
situ. Sadly, I am not allowed to ask what is being done, as it would, I am led to believe,
be vexatious.

Unless, of course, Derbyshire, Weldon, Khan, Boylan et al have a change of heart
and decide to respond.

Lord Goddard. Letter to Eamonn Boylan, Chief Executive, Stockport Council

By Recorded Delivery

Dear Mr Boylan

Re: Harcourt Street Playing Fields, North Reddish

As you are well aware, for some time now I have been asking council meeting and FOIA questions regarding the missing replacement playing fields at Harcourt Street, North Reddish, Stockport. Having been stonewalled by the Council time after time – the reason being the “vexatiousness” of the question – by you and the LibDem Executive Councillors, I had to write to the Chief Executive and Board members of Sport England to try to get some sort of response as to why there were no replacement playing fields. Sport England stipulated that these should have been in place before the new school opened and circa £660,000 should have been spent in total. The only reason this school was built, as it was against the Town Plan, was that such facilities would be provided for local people but you and the LibDem Executive Councillors reneged on that commitment using spurious and defamatory allegations against me to cover up the fact that they had failed to comply.

I would now like you to make an offer to make amends, under the Defamation Act. I would accept at this stage an abject apology and setting the record straight – all such costs to be borne out of the pockets of the LibDem Executive Councillors and senior council officers responsible for this sorry state of affairs.

I would like to receive a response from you within 10 working days, as is set down in the Council’s own guidelines.

Yours sincerely

Sheila Oliver

I have written to the Chair and Board of Sport England

The LibDems say it is “vexatious” of me to question the missing playing fields at Harcourt Street, North Reddish, Stockport. Maybe the Chair and Board of the excellent Sport England are not “vexatious”.

The LibDem Executive Councillors refused for the umpteenth time to respond to a question about the missing replacement playing fields at Harcourt Street.

The toxic waste dump school development was in contravention of the town plan and only scraped through on the proviso that replacement facilities be provided for local people before the school opened. Two years on there is no sign of them and yet again this Tuesday, Roberts, Derbyshire, Candler, Meikle, Bodsworth, Alexander, et al refused to respond saying I was being “vexatious”.

I have, therefore, written to the Chair and every member of the Board of the excellent Sport England in the perhaps vain hope that the LibDems might not consider them “vexatious” to be raising the matter.
