“The Liberal Democrats have selected Lisa Smart as their London Assembly candidate for the Merton and Wandsworth constituency ahead of next May’s elections. She was selected following a recent hustings event in Wimbledon for local party members.

Commenting on her selection Lisa, who has lived in Wandsworth for ten years, said: “I feel really honoured to have been chosen by local Lib Dem members to campaign for the people of Merton and Wandsworth at next year’s elections.

“Liberal Democrats on the London Assembly have a strong track record of standing up for Londoners on the issues that matter – they have held successive mayors to account on everything from transport to housing.

“People I speak to on the doorstep in Merton and Wandsworth feel really let down by their local Assembly Member. Not one person we surveyed recently even knew who he was!

“I’m really looking forward to listening to local people and campaigning to put great Liberal Democrat ideas, such as the ‘One Hour Bus Ticket’ into practice.”

Lisa joins the Liberal Democrat 2012 team for Merton & Wandsworth alongside mayoral candidate Brian Paddick and leader of the Lib Dems on the London Assembly, Caroline Pidgeon, as well as Wimbledon campaigner Shas Sheehan, who is a Lib Dem “list” candidate for the London Assembly. Lisa is a governor for a local school and trustee of La Vida, a Wimbledon based charity raising money for education and health projects in Latin America.”

“Caroline Pidgeon AM was out in Putney on Saturday 18th June with by-election candidate Lisa Smart.

The local Lib Dem Team are campaigning hard against the Conservative Councils plans to charge children to use a play area in Battersea Park and want to ensure this does not get rolled out to all other parks in the Borough.

“It was really great to spend the day knocking on doors and talking to local people about the issues that matter to them” said Caroline Pidgeon. “Lisa has lived in Putney for 10 years and is a local school governor. She will be a strong champion for Putney on Wandsworth Council.””

“Her passion for education can also be
seen through her role as trustee of a small
charity that raises funds for education and
health projects in Latin America.
Lisa studied part-time for an MBA from
London Business School whilst working
full time. She has a undergraduate degree
in Maths. Lisa lives in London and is the
Liberal Democrat candidate for the
Merton & Wandsworth constituency in
the 2012 London elections.”

The dodgy LibDem-run Stockport Council refused this request,
of course.

There is no
data protection for the dead, and Mrs Parnell wants Mike’s story told.

Please let
me have details of all efforts made by the Council, including any contributions
by MP Stunell, Council Solicitor Khan, Complaints Manager Majothi or
Council Tax Manager Peter Jones, to assist Mr Parnell in his last year of
life. The Council was fully aware of the serious nature of his illness,
and I have evidence that he was officially recognised as a vulnerable council
taxpayer.

I look
forward to receiving the information – please include any letters sent to him
including summonses, emails, notes of meetings and notes of telephone
conversations etc.

Dear Councillor Derbyshire

Mr Parnell has just left hospital following surgery
for stage 3 oesophageal cancer with lymph node spread. He is on your records as
a vulnerable council taxpayer. On leaving the Christie he was met with a
summons for unpaid council tax. I know from his previous records that he
doesn’t owe any council tax.

You LibDems are a vicious, spiteful
lot.
