These two MPs would appear to have paid large amounts of money into LibDem coffers – in excess of £65,000 over the period of the publicised expenses at this time. Some of it goes in rent for the constituency office, but given that the two gentleman were getting two flats in London at the taxpayers’ expense, maybe the LibDems could waive the rent on their offices.
There are claims for pagers, research, away days etc. Andrew Stunell wouldn’t disclose any details regarding these expenses. If I have paid as a taxpayer for research I should be able to read it. I didn’t asked Mark Hunter, as he wasn’t my MP. There would appear to be money spent on LibDem leaflets before the introduction of the Communications Allowance. There is £5,000 for a folding machine – I assume for LibDem leaflets.
